Maori Language Week Challenge No. 1

Tena Koutou,

WOW !!! Dedicated Dragons are really excited to celebrate 'MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK' after winning the last week's Tongan Language Week Challenge.

Te wiki o te reo Māori takes place between the 11th and 17th September. And the Theme of Maori Language Week is "Kia ora te reo Maori". This theme was chosen to celebrate New Zealand's indigenous greeting...

Mr. Hutchinson has given us challenges to complete every day.

Challenge # 1 was to Introduce our first and last name and where we come from. These are the Maori Phrases we learnt from our Maori children in the class to help us to say it properly to make sure it sounds right. They are:

1. Ko ______________ ahau
2. No _____________ ahau

Such as:  1. Ko Krishneel Dass ahau     2. No Fiji ahau

Please, have a look at their videos completing the first challenge with confidence. We hope you'll enjoy...

Angel and Annamaria introducing themselves in Maori KA PAI !!!

Krishneel and Cassius introducing themselves in Maori KA PAI !!!

Also, I would like our children's family/whanau to please encourage your kids to share with you about the completed challenge in Maori.

Please, Talk to your kids about the importance of Maori culture and the Treaty Of Waitangi in New Zealand. Even though they are not Maori but it's really important for our kids and for us to know New Zealand's past/history which is incredible. Truly Unbelievable !!!
