Bernard Mangakahia Mana - The Spirit of Polynesia

Hello to our lovely Whanau, I hope you're enjoying your beautiful weekend with 'Dedicated Dragons'. Welcome back to our week 2's blog as we have had lots of events happened at our school and we are very glad to share with you all.

On Monday, 8th of May - we welcomed and enjoyed BERNARD MANGAKAHIA's performance. It was just absolutely mind-blowing for all of us, and we are very fortunate to witness different culture's clothes and dance through his performance on the same stage. He taught us about how important it is to be positive even though you feel like you can't do it. Always BELIEVE IN YOURSELF as one of our personal strengths which can help us achieve anything in our life. He also added by saying the more we travel all around we tend to learn more from different experiences. Bernard also emphasised on that it's quite important to know your whanau's heritage and background. And always stay connected with them as they give you an inner strength to fight back in hard times.

Dedicated Dragons were extremely impressed the way he imitated different animals using the Hula Hoops !!! He also shared with us the actions from the Native Indians, the Maori, the Hawaiian and Hip Hop culture.

Enjoy some photos and videos were taken on that day and please talk to our dragons about it as well. I am sure they will be pleased to share their wonderful experience with you.
