Parents' Walkthrough for Term 3's Inquiry - MINIBEASTS

Kia Ora Whanau,

Our Busy Bees team had a wonderful parents' walkthrough in week 10 on Tuesday. Dedicated Dragons were really excited to welcome our Whanau with enthusiasm as they wanted to showcase their hard work not just in Inquiry also in other learning areas too.

Finally, the day had arrived with beautiful smiles on our parents' faces.  On that day, Parents' came to look at our Inquiry findings for term 3. We had chosen our own minibeast to know what they can do; what do they have, and who are they? We found this topic quite interesting as we completed our research using computers & iPads within our Inquiry groups.

Please have a look at our Inquiry display...

On Minibeasts cards we jotted down the fun and cool facts along with pictures of our own minibeasts - what they can do, what do they have and who they are... by ourselves and some of us with the buddies help.

It was so much fun as all of us participated in decorating our Inquiry Wall first. We had to color in the grass, flowers, and lots of minibeasts too. We were thrilled to see and hear the positive response from our parents. They were so proud of our work we have done so far in our classroom. We had also made our own topic related Bookmarks to use them for our Duffy Books to read in the holidays.

Another Inquiry activity we did was to create and paint our own cute little spiders using the Toilet Rolls. Here are some photos for our Whanau to see what & how did we do this.

Our Writing Wall - We have written a description about our favourite insects using lots of topic words and by drawing pictures too. Please check out our stories below in photos:

Here are some more pictures of our amazing work we completed in Maori Language Week - tiki & taniwhas' check out the pictures, please...

We looked at these exemplars first before we colored in on our own to see different coloring techniques and patterns as well.

Look at our Tiki & Taniwhas Aren't they amazing

  1. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics. One outcome visible at home is how VJ actually stops to look at these little beasts now with an inquiring mind. He even picked up a worm to show his cousins who weren't too impressed and instead ran away. Hehehe. Great stuff #DedicatedDragons. Looking forward to more pics for term 4. And thanks for inviting us into your classroom to see the wonderful work you had done/ :-)
