Challenge - Making of Tivaevae from Cook Island Language Week

Dedicated Dragons Welcomes all in Term 3,

In week 2, our Rowandale whanau celebrated Cook Island Language Week. The whole school challenge was to make the best Tivaevae and our class accepted this very gracefully.

In the Cook Islands, Tivaevae is a patchwork quilt sewn by Cook Island women. It is largely a social activity carried out communally and it has a major impact on the lives of many women who practice this. It is the reflection of women's surroundings and usually employs designs of flowers, leaves, birds, fish, insects and other animals.

Here are the pictures of us working hard to meet the challenge:

Look at our end product, isn't it beautiful ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘Œ

I hope we win again. YAYYYYYYY.... Can't wait for the announcement on Monday.  ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

Note: Dear Whanau and Caregivers please leave a comment in the comment box to show us that you do care for your children's learning at school. I'm sure we all do. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation always.
